The Philips HearStart HS1 electrode cartridge can be used for adult patients. The electrodes are always pre-connected to the AED. This saves valuable time during deployment. The correct electrode placement is indicated on the cassette. Because the electrodes are supplied in cassette form, they are always protected by a transparent plastic cover.

The electrodes are supplied with a self-adhesive gel. This gel can dry out over time. As a result, the electrodes always have an expiration date. As soon as this date has passed, the electrodes are no longer usable. Therefore, always ensure that you connect an unopened electrode cassette. Always make sure that the vacuum seal is intact.
